From the Detroit News: Wally Bronner will no longer be spied riding a bicycle through the mammoth Christmas store bearing his name, looking like a rolling poinsettia in his bright red jacket. But his Christmas-fused spirit will continue to flow through this Bavarian-themed resort town north of Flint, residents said. At the heart of Bronner's success was an interesting paradox. Even as his store contributed to the commercialization of Christmas, the devout Bronner preached steadily for the spiritual side of the holiday. A slogan with 2-foot-high letters outside the store's entrances read, "Enjoy CHRISTmas. It's HIS birthday."
